Packages
I’ve been a packages preacher for quite a while now. I’m not sure there’s any medical treatment for it though so I’ll just soldier on! 🤣
The truth is that I’m a massive believer in the benefits of creating clear packages for your business, but persuading you of those benefits can be really hard, until you put it to the test and see the results for yourself.
Which is exactly what happened to a client of mine recently. She’d dabbled a little bit with packages but would openly admit it was a bit half-hearted. And I think it was mainly to shut me up and get me off her back if we’re totally honest!
She had all the usual reservations:
- I offer so many things, I can’t get everything into a package
- Packages are too restrictive and don’t let customers choose what they want
- What if I get the pricing wrong and end up working for peanuts?
She was in that typical place of thinking that creating packages just seemed like a waste of time and a way to box her in. She didn’t see why they’d make any difference to whether people bought from her or not, or how much they’d spend.
Until ‘The Epiphany’! 💡
She wanted to make a very clear and easy to buy offer at the end of an event, so she created a lovely selection of 3 packages. And they worked pretty well at the time, but the world didn’t change. No big fat “I told you so” moment for me!
It’s what happened after that that convinced her of the absolute beauty of offering packages.
Since then, she’s been blown away by how much her packages have helped her to improve her conversations with new potential clients. Being able to clearly and succinctly explain exactly what the customer can buy has been a real game-changer. The ability to recommend a very specific package puts her in a position of authority and expertise.
And the only thing the customer needs to evaluate is ‘yes or no’.
So many of the reasons that your prospects faff, flounder and fail to make a decision can be overcome by offering them a single solution with an explanation of why it perfectly fits their needs. And that’s what great packages allow you to do.
