How To Prioritise!
Most ambitious business owners I work with don’t struggle because they have too few ideas. The truth is that they usually have far too many!
There are new services you could launch, marketing trends everyone’s telling you you need to jump on, systems that need improving, projects you’ve been meaning to start and a steady stream of other new ideas appearing along the way.
The problem is that a big list of good ideas ISN’T a business growth plan!
If anything it’s just a massive distraction.
At some point, you have to make some choices about your priorities. And about what’s actually humanly possible!
A useful starting point is to get everything out of your head and into one place. That includes all the ideas you’ve already been carrying around, plus the bigger changes and lessons you’ve identified while thinking about where you want your business to go next. Then you can finally start prioritising.
Which ideas will have the biggest impact on your 12-month goals? Are there some quick wins that would be easy to implement and help you build momentum? Are there one or two things you could do that would make lots of other activities easier, quicker or smoother afterwards? Believe me, anything that will bring momentum to your business is worth your attention.
And, perhaps most importantly, which ideas simply don’t need to happen now? (Yes I know you want to do everything right now)
In this week’s Business Tips video, I share a practical way to prioritise your business ideas and turn an overwhelming list of possibilities into a much clearer set of priorities.
