Back To Basics
I’ve found myself going right back to basics with a long-standing client recently. It’s just over 7 years since we first started working together and she’s made amaaaaazing progress in that time.
But she’s one of those people who’s so motivated by big goals and exciting new challenges that she occasionally struggles to keep up with herself.
You know those times you go through when everything is going at a million miles an hour, it’s all really juicy, exciting stuff and you’re multi-tasking like a ninja-guru-escapologist.
But secretly you know that you’re hanging on by a teeny tiny thread and if one thing goes wrong the whole house of cards will be fluttering in the wind like confetti at the Essex wedding of the year?!?
Well firstly, don’t worry, that’s just a standard part of growing your own business! 🤣
And secondly, let me take YOU right back to basics with one of my simplest tools that will give you massive clarity about how to reduce your overwhelm and focus on the most important things rather than trying to cram in absolutely everything.
The tool I want to talk to you about is a daily time log. It’s actually one of the first things I do with every single new client, no matter what stage of business they’re at.
I’ve used this with ‘solopreneurs’ and also with CEO’s of muti-million-pound businesses, and the value is always massive.
My video explains the detail of how to do this for yourself but the crux of it is that it gives you absolute clarity on where your time is going. It shows you clearly how long you’re spending on everything. It’s data, not gut instinct.
And that’s powerful!
There are always some big surprises in the data. No matter how well you think you know yourself I can guarantee that there’s something that’s taking you at least three times as long as you think it is – every week without fail.
And there’ll be something in there that’s really important but you’re squeezing it into the tiniest of gaps and giving it a fraction of the time it needs or deserves.
The clarity from your time log will allow you to make logical, rational and well-informed decisions about how to best use your time and how to structure your week to make you as productive and effective as possible.
It’s cheesy, but it’s genuinely a game-changer.
So please watch the video and consider doing this for yourself. It only takes a few minutes each day to get some massively informative data that could truly change your business. And rescue your sanity!
And of course, if you have massive ideas for your business, but keep finding yourself thwarted by the 18 bazillion small things that are holding you back, get in touch and let’s have a chinwag about how I can help you get focused and moving forwards.
