Small Business Cashflow
How is it mid-December already? I’m sure it should only be about February by now, but here we are again approaching another Christmas and wondering where on earth the year vanished to.
It’s time to kick back, reflect on your year and the amazing progress you’ve made and stuff yourself silly with mince pies and mulled wine.
Unless of course, you’re panicking about your cashflow.
Because this time of year is often the trickiest for small businesses as so many people seem to relax so early that they forget to pay on time! Well now, that is NOT very festive is it! 😤
Something that I encourage a lot of my clients to do in December is some proactive invoice chasing. So instead of waiting until a couple of days before your break, or, even worse, stressing out over the holidays and checking your bank balance 475 times a day, send a reminder nice and early of your invoice due dates and ask people to schedule any payments so that everything lands on time.
That way you can all breathe a little easier and feel more like the cat in the hat than the angry grinch!
Cashflow, and money management in general can be such an awkward area of business, can’t it?
How much time should you spend managing your money, versus how much time you should just crack on with making more of it?
And what can you do to feel calm and in control without feeling like an obsessive control freak?
Because it’s such a minefield, and even more so at this time of year, I thought I’d share my favourite cashflow management tips with you this week to help you ditch the stress and feel much better informed.Â
I’ve shared advice about invoicing, cost-controls, forecasting and building simple habits to make this stuff second nature to you.
I’d love to hear which of these tips most resonate with you so watch the video and then comment on YouTube or reply to my email to tell me what you think.
And if you know that money management is an area where you absolutely need to get a better grip on your business, why not book a quick call with me to talk about how I can help you do exactly that.
