Social Media Not Getting You Clients?
As you can probably imagine, marketing is a hot topic amongst my clients. We talk about everything from ‘God I hate marketing, do I really have to do it?’ right through to ‘we’ve nailed our video strategy and created amaaaazing freebies so what’s next?’
One thing that’s soooo common though, wherever a client is in their marketing journey, is a craving to get more clients from social media, combined with a festering hatred of having to write the sales posts that will actually attract those clients!
Because the annoyingly simple truth is that we’re all terrified of coming across as ‘salesy’ or pushy, needy, desperate, sleazy. Need I do on! 🤣
But we’d all still love to get more clients from social media easily, wouldn’t we?
There’s no denying that blatant sales posts (and the more blatant they are the more effective they are) will never get the same engagement as a fun or interesting story, or a value adding tip etc. And they’ll absolutely NEVER compete with a post about your dog or your kids / family. And don’t get me started on what colour you like your tea or your toast – can we just ban those please? 😤
The problem with hiding behind a mass of value-adding posts though and avoiding sales posts like the plague, is that it allows your prospects to stay stuck in ‘getting around to it mode’ for the rest of their natural lives!
Unless somebody’s 99% sure that your product or service fits their needs and can definitely help them; and they’re certain that your pricing fits their budget; they’ll stay stuck on the fence until they have more splinters in their bum than the massive pigeon that is starting to bow my garden fence he’s that lazy!
So if you’re posting relentlessly, sharing masses of value, getting lots of engagement, but still really frustrated that all that effort isn’t turning into new clients, writing more sales posts is the missing piece in your jigsaw. It’s the thing that can turn all your effort into results. Into enquiries, leads and lovely loyal clients who get great results through your service. And what’s not to love about that!
