Do you ever feel as though time management is a constant battle? When you’re building your small (but mighty!) business the battle to ever get to the end of your to do list is relentless isn’t it?
It’s something that comes up with my own clients time and time and time again. (I’m sure there’s an irony in there about spending so much time worrying about managing time!)
Now of course, if you’re on my good list because you read my emails every week đthen you’ll know that there’s actually no such thing as time management at all. It’s a complete deception designed to make you feel inept and ineffective.
But you don’t need to worry about that, because I’m sharing 2 great tips this week that will help you ditch the whole concept of time management in your small (but magnificent) business altogether.
These 2 tips are based on conversations with 2 different clients who were both convinced that everyone else is more productive, better focused and way better organised than they are.
It’s not true of course, but we all think that most of the time don’t we?
The irony for most of my own clients when it comes to the quest to finally master the never-ending to do list, is that their enthusiasm is actually their downfall. Sounds bonkers, doesn’t it? But think about it – you have to have a certain level of enthusiasm to be mad enough to start your own business, don’t you?
And that enthusiasm can so easily morph into an unreasonable optimism about how much you’re actually capable of achieving in a day. The reason you never get everything done is because it was never humanly possible to achieve all of that in 1 day!
