How’s that growth plan of yours coming along?
We’ve just headed into the second half of the year (if somebody could let me know where the first half vanished to, I’d seriously appreciate it!) so you should be seeing solid progress on your goals for the year.
But there’s a really annoying truth that pretty much every small business owner constantly realises. And it’s that making a plan for growth is sooooo much easier than implementing the bloody thing isn’t it? 😫
It’s easy to think that everything would be different if you just had a clear plan for growth.
And that’s true. For sure. But the plan on its own doesn’t change anything. And the unexpected downside to writing your plan is that it then creates a mahoosive list of actions and obligations that can feel daunting, overwhelming, demanding, intimidating. And lots more ings!
If you’ve done it well though, your plan should also feel exciting and motivating. And if it doesn’t feel like that, it’s probably not the right plan. Or maybe you’ve been dragged into aiming to achieve somebody else’s goals that aren’t actually your own aspirations (£10k months anyone?)
So how can a plan feel so exciting but then be so flipping difficult to get on with?
Well that, my lovely reader, is exactly what I’m sharing with you this week. In my 6.5 minute video (sorry Kylie – I know I keep promising to stick to 5 minutes, but I just get carried away ever week!) I’ve shared the 3 most common reasons that small business owners struggle to actually implement their plans; plus 2 cracking strategies to help you start moving and keep on moving week after week.
Because momentum is really the key to implementing your plan. Surges of activity are great but if you make loads of progress and then get sidetracked for weeks (or months) you’ll feel like you’re back at square one. And if you keep feeling like you’re starting all over again, eventually you’ll just decide it’s easier to keep pottering along as you are rather than going through the stress of pushing for growth.
So, please take 6.5 minutes to transform your planning into a series of epic actions and fabulous progress. And feel free to let me know what the biggest obstacle is for you in cracking on with your own plan, and I’ll happily send back a personal tip just for you.
